Wisdom for Life Show 1 | Intro To The Show, Philosophy of Life, Q&A, and Negative Visualization

Wisdom for Life Show 1 | Intro To The Show, Philosophy of Life, Q&A, and Negative Visualization Here's the in-studio recording of the very first episode of the Wisdom for Life radio show, hosted on Riverwest Radio (WXRW 104.1 FM Milwaukee) by myself and my co-host Dan Hayes. We broadcast live every other Friday, 5-6 PM Central Time, and stream live over the internet.

In this first episode, we introduce the central idea of the show - using resources from philosophy to understand and improve our lives - and ourselves as the hosts. We then discuss the growing popularity of philosophy outside of the academy, the notion of philosophy as a way of life, and how that practical focus actually characterizes a considerable part of philosophy throughout its history. We then shift to discussing spiritual or philosophical practices.

In the last twenty minutes of the show, we discuss a practical question which many people can relate to, which has to do with setting boundaries and practicing Stoicism, and then examine one practice in particular - Negative Visualization.
