JF 17 is Replacing The Mirages But Can it Perform Like the Mirages This JF-17 is new, much more modern and very capable as compared the to the jets it is replacing, name the large force of old Mirage III/5 and F-7P/PG Skybolts. Because it is being made in Pakistan and the price is low, Pakistan is able to buy more. It will fly alongside the F-16 now in service. However the JF-17 is the most important in the PAF than the F-16. The PAF is aiming to buy a total of just over 450 units. It will be the PAF primary combat fighter for the next 20–30 years. Pakistan and China are working on upgrading the JF-17 with newer and modified designs as well as incorporating stealth technologies. The JF-17 is 5 times better in performing than the Mirage III/5 and F-7P/PG. Above is the roll out of the important milestone, the Block 3 which is equivalent to being the 4+ Generation fighter at an affordable price at $35 million each.
The Mirage III is a 3rd generation fighter while the JF-17 is considered a 4+ generation fighter even though the DNA comes from the MiG-21. At the moment, the Mirage III, 5 and Chinese made F-7P are being replaced by the JF-17. Pakistan expect to have a total of 450 jets in service.
