Completing an Informal Reading Inventory, Part 1: GWL

Completing an Informal Reading Inventory, Part 1: GWL An Informal Reading Inventory (IRI) is an informal assessment tool to identify a child's independent, instructional and frustration reading levels. An IRI consists of 2 parts: a Graded Word List Assessment & a Graded Passages Assessment. Using Johns and Pipers' Basic Reading Inventory 12th ed., I demonstrate how to conduct the first part of this Assessment, the Graded Word List (GWL). You will see me actually conduct the GWL on a child, and then show the data as I talk you through the procedures.
