Winter Steelhead Fishing With A Few Subscribers | Steelhead On Spinners, Soft Beads

I have to start out by saying this was a pretty awesome fishing trip! For one, I'm finally meeting up with a couple of buddy's that are subscribers to the channel. I haven't had company in a while, so I was pretty happy to mix it up and increase the chances of getting some Winter Steelhead on video.
The second reason being it's Jerry's Birthday (you will see him in the video) Jerry has yet to catch a winter steelhead, and for his birthday he catches two.
It mad for a fun day. I wasn't able to get anything on the end of the line, but I was more excited to be able to get these other catches on video.
Things settled down for a bit after Jerry's 2 fish. We took a quick break to talk it up after bumping into a few more subscribers who were out fishing this stretch of river. Maybe the short break was needed because it didn't take long for Jeff to get a nice big ol fish on while fishing a 14mm soft bead under a bobber.
All 3 fish for the day came on different techniques. Jerry's first fish came while floating a red and black worm on a white jighead (Nightmare pattern)
The second fish came on a spinner (#4 Michael Jackson) Black sparkle Body, Chrome blade, with a black fade at the tip.
As mentioned above, Jeff's fish came on a 14mm soft bead.
The river conditions were prime for fishing this area since the river was on the drop and the clarity was just what we were looking for. All three fish were caught within 15ft of the bank. Just goes to show how working your way out by casting close to shore first, may produce a fish from an area that you may have been eventually standing in.
Overall, I think I'm going to have to start doing more group things like this. I always enjoy the company, and being able to highlight other locals/fishermen and their catches, along with the good times and shenanigans that follows when a bunch of guys get together out on the river.
As of the recording of this video (February) We are coming off a "blowout"
the river hit 15ft, was on the drop, 11.6ft with good visibility and "steelhead green" color. The conditions are supposed to continue to improve this week which should make winter steelhead fishing all across the Pacific Northwest amazing. We are entering peak times for seeing good numbers and the conditions have finally allowed us to get out to hit it hard this week.
For you locals, the Sandy River should start recycling some fish down to Lewis and Clark, keep an eye on the odfw site. The clackamas has been seeing some good catches, those most anglers are keeping their mouths shut ;)
Best of luck to all of you!!
