Sky News host James Morrow says the Israel Folau story publicly demonstrates that “if you say the wrong thing" the left will “try to destroy your life”. The Daily Telegraph recently reported two players of faith felt they couldn’t come out and support Israel Folau because taking such a stand would have put their career at risk with Rugby Australia.
Sky News host Paul Murray described this as the “chilling effect” that was caused by Rugby Australia’s dealings with Israel Folau.
Mr Morrow said the players of faith were placed in a “terrible invidious position… where they had to choose between their livelihood and their personal beliefs".
“What it comes down to is this situation where the left is so inclusive and diverse that they need to shut down opposing voices in the name of being inclusive and diverse,” Mr Morrow said.
