Knowing the chess greats Part I - Frederic Friedel

There are very few individuals in the chess world who have met each and every world champion, spent time with them and also have been their friends. One of the rare personalities is Frederic Friedel, the co-founder of ChessBase. For years, Frederic traveled to chess tournaments, covering events and running the ChessBase newspage.

In this video we get to hear from him his stories about meeting the greatest players in the chess world. They include Mikhail Botvinnik, Nigel Short, Garry Kasparov, Anatoly Karpov, Viktor Korchnoi, John Nunn and others. This is part I of the series "Knowing the chess greats" by Frederic Friedel. In Part II we cover players like Tal, Spassky, Fischer, etc. So stay tuned for that. For now enjoy the first part!
