There's a lot of action in this one! Read more below. Seen here are three Prague police (Czech state Police/ Policie ČR) responding urgently. I want to highlight a bunch of things in this video:
- 0:02 that fast yelp siren, a little unusual but you can hear it from time to time. Also note the lots of horn
- 0:30 2nd unit with hi-lo in the beginning - the hi-lo tone is the worst you can choose on those Holomy sirens.
- 0:37 unit passes on the right (more below)
- 0:53 Hyundai Tucson with piercer and quite some horn
- 0:58 driver of the silver Skoda in the number 2 lane moves over to the number 1 lane (next to me) - that's a pretty smart move considering that he couldn't see pedestrians that may have appeared/ waited behind the bus. Sorry for the shakiness, I grabbed my bag just to make sure he has enough space to move again.
- 1:05 hauling ass! Also note the black (German) Mercedes pulling to the left right in front of the cruiser - W-T-F!
In regards to 0:37 and 1:08 - there's apparently no 'move over to the right' law or guideline in Czechia. I frequently notice the results of that. It's no wonder that close calls and accidents occur, drivers are confused and that some drivers don't react/ move over at all if emergency vehicles take the much more dangerous way and weave in and out of traffic instead of just sticking to one/ the left lane.
